Just a reminder DO NOT wash the neckers we made this week with other clothes.

The dye will run on first few washes and we don’t want to ruin any other clothes.

Just wash with cold water in the sink.

REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE, SUNDAY 14th NOVEMBER

A parade is being arranged this year.

Explorers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers should turn up at Burton Square / lower section of Utkinton Road at 1010hrs. Please note that Utkinton Road will be closed off from Heatherways to High Street at 1000hrs in readiness for the parade.

The parade will set off at 1025hrs and proceed to St Helen’s Church where a short service will be held by the cenotaph. Once this outdoor service is completed, most Explorers, Scouts, Cubs andall Beavers will be free to return home. We are not sure at this stage if we need to present flags inside the church but, if so, we will ask for three of the older children from each section to attend. We will advise these arrangements separately to those concerned.

It is probably best to park in one of the village car parks and walk with your children to Utkinton Road. Parents may accompany the parade to the church and watch outside proceedings at the church. As the parade has not been done in this manner before it is difficult to predict timings, but I would guess the outside service will be over by 1110hrs latest.

Explorers, scouts, cubs and beavers should be dressed in smart, full uniform. Black school shoes, black/grey school trousers or skirts and a poppy should be worn. A small sum of money for the collection is advisable.

Attendance by Cubs, Scouts and Explorers is regarded as obligatory but if your son / daughter is unable to take part, for good reason, then please let the relevant section leader know.
