28th May – half term

26 May

No scouts this week as its half term.

21st May – Community tidy up

19 May

Normal night at the hut 7-9pm.

We are out in the village to help tidy up and help out in the village this week. Bring a coat applicable to the weather (hopefully coats not needed). Can we ask if the scouts bring and old pair of gardening gloves or something similar (and mark on their names on them).

14 may – fires & marsh mello

12 May

Normal night at the hut 7-9 pm.

Big well done to those who went on camp. They were well behaved, walked miles, slept little and all took part 100%.

Info from past letters:
Dear parents,
We are now only a few weeks away from spring camp.
Thank you to you all for getting the forms back to us quickly so we can do some of the final organisation tasks (booking full transport, booking activities etc)
We have the final calculations and the final payment is £30.
The plan is to meet at the scout hut for 6.30pm on 10.5.19 so we can leave for 7pm sharp. We have a day of hiking and a day of activities lead by the scout centre planned.
We will arrive back at the hut at 16:00 on 12.5.19.
One of the activities that the scouts requested was air rifle shooting. As part of the centre lead activities we need a additional “permission slip” signed by parent/guardians. We will have these printed out ready on Fri when you drop your scout off so please sign. Without this one your son/daughter might have to sit out.
Any scouts with medicins or dietary requirements please hand these over to a leader on Friday with:

  • Clearly marked container (Scouts name and contents)
  • Written instructions (dosage, time)
  • Mobile number to contact parent if leaders have any questions.

If you have any further question please see us on a Tuesday or email back.
Again if any emergencies the Scout centre landline number is below. This is managed by the Great tower staff and not us so again only emergencies please.
Great tower Scout centre 01539 531 279

7th may – Wide game / Out door cook Challenge.

5 May

We will NOT be at the hut this week.

We will be out in Peckforton on a wide game but usual time 7-9pm. We will be outside so dress according to the weather (we will go if its raining) and scout uniform is not needed.

The drop off and pick up point is the same place and get a bit full so watch out for scouts in your car.

We will meet on a lane that runs to the water treatment plant in Peckforton. about 100 yards up that lane is where the leaders will be. You can use the post code CW69TJ but this IS NOT the exact location of the lane this is close. Please look at the maps and pictures to see the exact location. there is a street view pic to see the lane.
