27th November – find the code

We will be outside round the village so bring a coat (may be hats etc) to match the weather.

Scouts who are doing the Village hospital sketch please bring your words with you this week.

20th Nov – The cube

19 Nov

Normal night at the hut 7-9pm.

13 Nov – Local knowledge badge

11 Nov

Normal night at the hut7-9pm.

A very big “well done” to all the scouts that attended remembrance parade. We had a brilliant turn out and every scout behaved brilliant and with the respect the day calls for.

We are planning on supporting the Village hospital carol concert and had a number of scouts up for taking part. The scouts plan to do a short sketch and the event starts at 7pm on 7th Dec. We will come up with sketch and rehearse in scouts but we need to confirm who can attend. Will all parents ask their scouts if they offered to take part.

If your scout wants to help (and will tick of quite a few things for badges) can you please call in to scouts (start or end) and speak to the leader team. We need parents to confirm that scouts can attend.

Info about event –

6th Nov – PL’s game night and first aid

4 Nov

Normal night at the hut 7-9pm.

Pl’s will run some of their favourite games so have a think.

Remembrance parade is this Sunday Info below:

Explorers, Scouts and Cubs should turn up at Burton Square (the small triangle of land between the High Street and Utkinton Road at the Chester end of the High Street) at 10.00 a.m. Please note that the High Street is going to be closed off at 10.00 a.m. in readiness for the parade. Therefore, it is probably best to approach from the northeast end of Forest Road and drop your children off at Woodlands Way from which they can walk down to Burton Square. Otherwise I suggest you park in one of the local car parks and walk from there although your car may be trapped for around 30 minutes. Arrangements for Beavers will be a little different and parents of Beavers will be advised separately by Claire Uzum. Explorers, scouts, cubs and beavers should be dressed in smart, full uniform. Black school shoes, black/grey school trousers and a poppy should be worn. A small sum of money for the collection is advisable. Always difficult to predict precisely but proceedings should be over by noon at the Community Centre.

Attendance by cubs, scouts and explorers is regarded as obligatory but if your son / daughter is unable to take part, for good reason, then please let the relevant section leader know.
